Cecelia Albon, General Manager of The Avenue Steak Tavern in Grandview Heights, Columbus, Ohio

Cecelia Albon, general manager of The Avenue Steak Tavern in Grandview, joined Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) in 2016 as a guest services Associate. Since then, she has moved up the ranks, stepping into her first management role in 2020 at Hudson 29 Upper Arlington.

A native of Grandview Heights, Albon graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and anthropology. She says that her greatest lesson in her professional career thus far is to “lead with empathy and grace. Always seek to understand.” Albon also says, when asked what advice she has for those interested in pursuing a career in restaurants and hospitality, “As my mom would say, ‘be the noodle.’ Stay flexible and strong to handle whatever comes your way.”

Outside of work, Albon enjoys unwinding from a long week by visiting Metro parks, cooking with family & friends, sewing her own wardrobe, and listening to audiobooks. Her favorite CMR dish is the Arugula Salad with Blackened Salmon from Hudson 29, and she also enjoys the Sloe Tom Collins from The Avenue. In her new role, Albon most looks forward to having a positive impact on her team, the continued growth of The Avenue in Grandview & being a member of the Grandview Heights community.
